Ascendant Studios announce a new update for their fast-paced first-person shooter Immortals of Aveum, which is set to add AMD FSR 3 to the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The developer behind fantasy shooter Immortals of Aveum, Ascendant Studios, have today announced a couple of new updates for their title which recently arrived to PlayStation Plus. Patch 1.0.6.3 is now live across all platforms and it brings HDR to consoles while Patch 1.0.6.4 is set to follow soon in the coming weeks.

The biggest highlight of Patch 1.0.6.4 is the implementation of AMD FSR upscaler tech on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Immortals of Aveum will be the first game ever to bring the third iteration of AMD's technology to the consoles.

The official blog post mentions that the update will include features like temporal upscaling, advanced frame generation and built-in latency reduction. Some of these features will also arrive to PC which is getting an improved version of FSR 3.

Ascendant Studios also confirm that the FSR 3 update will extend support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) monitors and TVs on both PC and console, which will improve frame pacing and reduce occurrences of judder or screen tears.

So far, we got games that launched with AMD FSR on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S but none had the most recent version, which brings a set of new features over its predecessors.

AMD FSR 3 is out today but only two games support it at this moment
AMD FSR is currently available in over 300 games across PC and consoles

AMD FSR 3 is already available in Immortals of Aveum on PC where it introduced a big FPS boost as well as better image quality. It remains to be seen if the implementation of this long-awaited feature on consoles will also be in a similar vein in terms of quality and performance.

While Immortals of Aveum is not the most popular video game on the market, it's certainly one that will show all the strengths and weaknesses of AMD's upscaler due to its fast-paced nature and a large number of particles on screen.
