Stormind Games and Saber Interactive are getting ready for the launch of A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, and for the hype, they've dropped an exciting new live-action trailer.
In it, we see somebody reclining and casually playing the game, but it rapidly descends into pure terror as there's a real-life Deathangel showing up in his home.
The tension ramps up, and with the immersive DualSense controller's Haptic Feedback, this unfortunate player meets his swift end in this survival, horror and stealth type game.
While the trailer is dramatic, it boils down to the fact that silence is survival. A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is set before the events of the first movie. Earth has just been invaded by alien deadly creatures.
The story follows the protagonist, Alex Taylor, and her family trying to survive in a world where making even the slightest noise can be a disaster.
Gameplay involves players making their way through environments undetected by the Deathangels, for instance, which hunt wholly by sound. A device monitors your noise level to ensure players step carefully in tense, stealth-driven gameplay.
While there is much stealth in the game, action isn't completely devoid either; there's an exciting chase where Alex fires a shotgun at the back of a moving vehicle in such a hopeless way to fend off an alien.
The Road Ahead promises a mix of stealth and suspense with bursts of action and will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC from October 17th. Prepare yourself for an experience that will be harrowing and sound-sensitive!
