Publisher Focus Entertainment have announced via Twitter that A Plague Tale: Requiem has received a new update on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, adding an official 60 FPS Performance Mode. Sadly, Series S won't be receiving this patch so players will have to stick with 30 FPS and 40 FPS graphical modes.
Additionally, the PC version of the game also received additional graphical options, which is certainly great news for those who are playing this stunning action adventure on the PC platform.
While some may argue that the 60 FPS update for consoles comes a bit late, there are still plenty of players who did not play the game and have been specifically waiting for this patch. And of course, better late than never!
A Plague Tale: Requiem is often praised for its impeccable visuals and it's one of the first games that truly pushed the graphical fidelity on the next-gen consoles.
It's built on Asobo Studios' proprietary engine called The Zouna engine, which has specifically built tech for the game's incredible rat scenes, something that's become somewhat of a trademark feature of the series. Having a swarm of hundreds of thousands of rats on the screen at 60 FPS will certainly look incredible.
A Plague Tale: Requiem is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
