Starfield is a comprehensive RPG that offers extensive character customization options, allowing you to fine-tune every aspect of your character's appearance. Bethesda, the developers of this RPG behemoth, have provided a wealth of choices to ensure your character looks precisely the way you desire.
However, once you've customised your character to your liking, you won't find an in-game menu that enables you to make further alterations.
If you've grown tired of your character's appearance and wish to make changes, fear not, as there's an option available that allows you to modify not only the physical attributes but also the gender and the name you've assigned. So, let's proceed without delay.
How to change your character's appearance, name and gender mid-game
To alter your character's appearance, name, and gender, you'll need to journey to Neon, a cyberpunk city you'll visit during the main mission titled "All That Money Can Buy." Alternatively, if you can't wait, you can head to the Volii star system, specifically the planet Volii Alpha. The Volii system is the third expansive system to the east of the Alpha Centauri system, following the Guniibuu and Olympus systems.
Upon arriving at Neon, proceed along the left side, where the shops are located. Keep an eye out for a shop named Enhance. This shop is really difficult to miss due to the massive glowing advertisement positioned above the entrance.
Once you step inside the shop, have a conversation with the woman positioned on the right. She'll propose a comprehensive makeover of your character's appearance for a fee of 500 credits. Upon entering the appearance interface, you'll have the opportunity to modify all the parameters initially set during character creation. Eventually, you'll also be able to change your character's name and gender.
This marks the first shop offering such a service that we've encountered in our gaming journey thus far. While it's possible that there may be additional similar shops given the vast scope of Starfield, the available options are likely to remain pretty much the same.
