Aside from the story-related outfits, extra costumes may be obtained by collecting golden doubloons throughout the game. Here's how to get SpongeBob's first four costumes in SpongeBob SquarePants The Cosmic Shake.
The various outfits in SpongeBob SquarePants The Cosmic Shake are the game's only actual unlockables. You must complete two tasks in order to acquire our spongy hero's new attire. To begin, you must collect enough jelly stuff, which, to be honest, is plentiful throughout the game. To be precise, 500 jellies are required for each outfit. The second requirement is that you gather doubloons as you go through the levels in order to unlock a certain tier of the costumes.
There are seven outfit tiers in total, and you will need a certain number of doubloons to unlock them all. Each successive tier needs additional doubloons. To open the first tier, you'll need two doubloons; for the third, four; for the fourth, eight; and so on. Today, we'll show you how to get the first tier of SpongeBob outfits by exposing the location of the first two doubloons, which are rather easy to discover at the very beginning of the game.
We will try not to spoil anything, but please be aware that there will be some small spoilers ahead, so consider yourself warned.
Doubloon No. 1
Soon after the opening of the game, you will be prompted to enter the first portal, which will lead you to the very first level in the game, Wildwest Jellyfish Fields. After some portions of riding the seahorse and platforming, you will reach the town of Manta Fe. Right in front of you, you will see the Manta Fe jail. Directly left of that jail is a guy (well, a fish to be exact) in charge of the shooting range. What you want to do is jump on the purple button on the ground and splash it. That will activate the shooting range.
To earn the first doubloon, you must shoot the targets that appear by pressing the R1 button (on the PlayStation ) or the equivalent button on other controllers. Make sure you only hit the targets and not the horse pictures, since the targets will give you one point and the horses will deduct one. You must earn eight or more points in under one minute to unlock the doubloon. Once you do that, the doubloon is yours.
Doubloon No. 2
Look to the left when you enter Manta Fe (SpongeBob will mention something about the town). A trampoline may be found behind the left row of houses. Jump off that trampoline onto the rooftops. On the top of the middle building, there is a stack of jelly crates. Destroy them and then turn on the switch hidden behind the boxes. The switch will turn on the hovering star above you. To obtain this doubloon, you must activate at least one more of those switches.
The second switch is on the opposite building. To get there, descend to the ground level and search for the boxes placed on the side of the first house on the right. Climb the boxes and reach the middle rooftop. Destroy the jelly crates once again and turn on the second floating star switch. The third switch lies behind the "Jail" sign on the jail building, but you don't need to activate it because the doubloon can be reached by double jumping and sliding to it from the second floating star. If you wish to trigger the third switch, though, you may climb to the jail roof from the boxes placed behind the building.
Return to the first roof you climbed before triggering the second switch and use the trampoline to jump on the floating star, then leap from star to star to earn the second golden doubloon.
After obtaining golden doubloon No. 2, you can pause the game and go to the area where you can unlock additional SpongeBob outfits. The first tier grants access to four new costumes: Underwear, Spongebuck, Kuddlybob, and Boy Scout.
