Participating in fishing within Sea of Stars, the latest turn-based RPG adventure crafted by Sabotage Studio, not only introduces a slightly more tranquil gameplay aspect but also proves to be rewarding. Each time you successfully catch a new fish, you obtain cooking materials that can aid in restoring your health during perilous battles.
Aside from the fish you can cook using diverse recipes, engaging in fishing also presents an opportunity to earn a trophy when you successfully capture all 23 types of fish.
Considering that the fishing event locations, marked on the ship's map, are relatively straightforward to locate, this guide won't emphasise their whereabouts. Instead, our focus will be on methods to enhance your fishing efficiency and upgrade your fishing rods, streamlining the process significantly.
How to upgrade fishing rods and improve your fishing skills
Engaging in fishing in Sea of Stars is a fairly straightforward task. Identify the fish's shadow in the pond, cast your line directly towards the shadow, and the fish will be hooked. Once hooked, a designated path emerges for reeling in the fish. If you pull it out beyond this path, the line will eventually snap.
Certain fish are notably straightforward to reel in, while others might appear considerably challenging. To simplify your fishing endeavours, upgrading your fishing rods will be necessary.
Enhancing the rods requires waiting until the point in the game when your Mirth city is established. Once your city is founded, you'll be entrusted with acquiring unique plans for constructing four buildings within your city, which include a fish market.
You obtain plans by discovering rainbow conchs scattered throughout the world and exchanging them for rewards. For guidance on locating rainbow conchs and redeeming them for prizes, refer to our guide.
For the Fishing Hut Plans, you'll require a total of 22 conchs. Once you've gathered the necessary rainbow conchs, trade them in for the Fishing Hut Plans, and then head back to Mirth to construct the Fishing Hut. Subsequently, you'll need a skilled operator for this establishment. Find the expert at the inn located in Mooncradle.
After conversing with him, head back to Mirth and engage him once more within the Fishing Hut. He will inform you about three new fishing rods at your disposal, each attainable by capturing various fish types. The rewards will be distributed across three tiers. It's advisable to start by capturing lighter fish in any pond you come across, reserving the more challenging catches for the superior rods acquired as rewards. Once you successfully capture all 23 fish types, the "Master Angler" trophy will pop up.
