Lego Fortnite is a minecraft-esque take on the survival genre in a Lego world. The game mode was added as a standalone title by Epic Games with the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 update.
While Lego Fortnite has the basic elements of the survival genre, such as hunting, building, maintaining a village, exploration, and intricate mechanisms such as hunger, temperature effects, and resting, it lacked the feature to tame and recruit animals.
With the latest 29.30 patch, players were granted the ability to tame and recruit selective animals for their village. If you're eager to recruit an animal for resource farming, here's how you can do it.
How to recruit animals for your village in LEGO Fortnite
To recruit an animal for your village, you must first tame it. In order to tame a docile animal, you'll need to follow these steps properly:
- Start by building an animal house. The recipe for the animal house unlocks once your village reaches level 2. After unlocking the recipe, you'll need ten planks to build it in your village's vicinity.
- After building an animal house, you'll need to identify the animal you want to tame for your village. Currently, the following animals can be tamed and recruited in Lego Fortnite:
- Cows
- Chickens
- Sheeps
- Pigs
- Approach the animal you want to tame and give it animal treats, which can be crafted through the grill using 5 vines and 3 corn. As the resources for making animal treats are readily available near your village, we recommend making a hefty chunk at once, as it will save you time if a treat goes to waste.
- Once the animal is tamed, lead it back to your village safely.
- After they arrive in your village, assign them to an animal house with a name to recruit them for your village.
However, if your animals feel ignored, they won’t stick around for long. We recommend assigning a villager to take good care of them when you’re not around. Moreover, while taming animals in the wild, don’t let the bears follow you back to your village. Thankfully, they’re quite sleepy and can be easily avoided, as long as you’re quiet.
