Starfield is a sci-fi action role-playing game developed and published by Bethesda Softworks for Xbox Series S|X consoles and PC. Microsoft's exclusive sci-fi RPG is built upon the classic Bethesda formula with staggering visuals.
While Xbox Series X and PC port of Starfield enabled players to run the game in 120 FPS natively. However, the Xbox Series S was left behind, as the console's components severely limited most current-gen AAA games from running at 120 FPS.
Fortunately, with the new Starfield Creation Kit, players will be able to run the game at 120 FPS on the Xbox Series S console by adjusting a few settings.
How to run Starfield at 120 FPS
The new Creation Kit allows players to mod Starfield on their consoles allowing them to tweak different in-game settings to make their gameplay experience smoother. This new modding ability also includes making visual upgrades. Here's the set of mods you need to use to run Starfield at 120 FPS on the Xbox Series S:
- Uncap FPS for Series S
- Remove Grass
- Crowd Reducer
- Inquisitor Project FPS Plus
- No God Rays
- Performance Shadows (Series S)
- Performance Tweaks (Series S)
By using these mods from the Creation Kit, the Xbox Series S will able to run Starfield at 120 FPS. The Xbox Series S has fallen behind in the new-gen console race due to its hardware bottleneck. However, utilizing these mods players can push the console to its full capability while playing Starfield.
However, using these mods will come with a few issues attached including the low graphical tradeoff and achievement not counting. Most of these mods will make the game feel a little bland as it removes grass, crowds and many visual cues. Moreover, using mods from the Creation Kit will also lock out the ability of unlocking trophies in Starfield.
