Helldivers 2 is a survival extraction shooter developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Entertainment. It is a sequel to the 2015 top-down shooter Helldivers.
In Helldivers 2, players are tasked with stopping the invasion of Super Earth from two opposing forces, Terminids and Automatons. During their mission for liberty, each Helldiver receives a dedicated destroyer and weapon arsenal.
Aside from the usual Primary and Secondary weapons, each Helldiver has access to a Support Weapon. These Support Weapons feature their ammo count and are essential for dealing with different enemy classes. If you're running out of Support Weapon ammo in Helldivers 2, here's how to increase it.
How to Get More Ammo for Support Weapons
Support Weapons are available through stratagems. After completing the training module, you'll get access to the Machine Gun support weapon by calling it through a stratagem.
The max ammo count for almost all support weapons is three magazines. However, the Support Weapon will deploy with only two magazines at max, and you'll have to resupply with ammo to get the maximum ammo count. If you're deploying on higher-level planets with increased difficulty, you'll need the total ammo count on all your weapons to fight different Terminid Strains and Automaton Classes.
While fighting Bugs, closing Nests or extracting, you'll run out of ammo as Terminids and Automatons start swarming your location. So, if you're looking for a way to get more ammo for your Support Weapons, begin with the Ship Module Upgrade.
Head to your Ship Management menu and select the Ship Module tab. Then, navigate to the Donation Access License under the Patriotic Administration Center section and purchase it with 60 Common Samples. Purchasing this module will provide you with max ammo for your Support Weapon as soon as it is deployed.
Then, once you run out of ammo, instead of reloading, look for Vaults, small settlements and facilities. These minor POIs contain ammo boxes, so you can easily pick up the maximum amount of ammo for your Support Weapon from these boxes. However, if you cannot find ammo boxes, call a Resupply Stratagem and fill up your supplies quickly.
