Sony Entertainment's Helldivers 2, is a survival shooter developed by Arrowhead Game Studios. The game is a sequel to 2015's popular top-down shooter Helldivers.
In Helldivers 2, players must prevent opposing Alien forces - Terminids and Automatons - from capturing Super Earth. As the difficulty level increases, players will encounter larger Automaton Reinforcements like the Hulk and Tanks.
The Hulk is the most difficult advanced mob Automaton type to defeat without adequate planning or strategem use. If you want to beat Automaton Hulks in Helldivers 2, here are a few strategies to consider.
How to Defeat Automaton Hulks Easily
Automaton Hulks usually appear on mid to high-level planets. They are typically found near Automaton settlements with other Automaton classes. There are two types of Hulk: Hulk Bruiser and Hulk Obliterator. Hulk Bruisers deal melee damage, while Hulk Obliterators carry a flamethrower.
Most Automatons generally die after getting shot a few times. However, thanks to their hardcore armor plating and movement speed, the Hulk will tank 90% of your upfront shots from standard weapons.
If you face an Automaton Hulk out in the open, here are the strategies you should consider using to take it down -
- Use all Stratagems at your disposal. The Hulks are super tanky, absorbing all weapon damage without any issues. So, your best bet at damaging a Hulk would be using every Stratagem at your disposal. The more stratagems you use, the better your odds at eliminating a Hulk easily.
- Use your surroundings to your advantage. While fighting a Hulk always keep moving behind obstacles, so the Hulk fails at targeting you.
- Flank a Hulk as fast as you can. As soon as you engage a Hulk out in the open, try to move behind it and damage the glowing core. It will instantly lower the health of the Hulk, then you can easily take it out by using explosives.
While engaging a Hulk Bruiser, try not to get too close, as a single hit will instantly take you out. Also, be careful while engaging the Hulk Obliterator, their flamethrowers have extended range and deal high incendiary damage.
