If you've been playing Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree expansion and found yourself in the Ruins of Unte area which is filled with scraps from Furnace Golems but also a couple of working ones, chances are that you're stuck at getting inside the actual building since the entrance is blocked by one of those big firey boys.
The building behind the Furnace Golem's back holds a couple of very nice items including a Giant Golden Arc incantation and Stone Sheated Sword so you should definitely solve this one to get your hands on those precious items that From Sofware created for us.
If you're struggling to awaken the golem and make him move from the entrance, here's a handy guide that will explain everything you need to do to get him to move.
Furnace Goelm Ruins of Unte solution
Here is a step-by-step guide to help you get inside the Ruis of Unte.
1. Make sure you have Greater Potentate's Cookbook [2]
- If you don't have it, one can be looted at Run Down Traveler's Rest shack (map below).
2. Go to Item Crafting menu and craft a Hefty Furnace Pot
- This is the item we need to awaken the golem. Make sure you craft the FURNACE pot, not the FIRE pot as that one won't work.
3. Climb onto the ledge left of the golem and throw the pot into his body
- The ledge is easily accessible. Just go left from the golem and you'll see a couple of ruined structures that will help you climb towards the ledge. Once you're there, throw the Furnace Pot into the golem.
4. And that's it! If you've done these steps, the Furnace Golem should now rise in all his fiery glory, unblocking the entrance in the process. All you now have to do is to carefully enter the ruins and loot the items.
How to easily kill Furnace Golem at Ruins of Unte
To kill the Golem that blocked the door, while in the ruins, use the left side drapes hanging from the building to climb onto the walls. Use your mount as it's much easier.
Once you've climbed the wall, simply head towards the Golem where you'll find a nice spot where the Golem can't hurt you but you will be able to hurt him. Grab your Hefty Furnace Pot that we've just crafted and throw a couple of them into his fire pit when he makes it open.
I've managed to kill him with four pots. Once he's down, he'll drop Bloodsucking Cracked Tear.
