Dragon Age: The Veilguard, the latest RPG from BioWare, features a lot of sidequests whose solutions are usually quite simple: just follow the quest markers and do what game requires you to do.
However, some quests, like the Treasure of Sharkmooth Mountain quest, will make you think a bit hardes, and to solve them, you'll need to use all your puzzle solving skills you honed throughot the years of gaming.
If this particular quest and its puzzles are giving you a headache and you're struggling with their solutions, we've made a guide that will show you how to go through them with ease.
How to solve the four knights puzzle in Lava Caves
Lava Caves is the area in Dragon Age: The Veilguard that will become accessible quite late in the game, during Taash's personal questline, to be precise, and in this area, you'll find this quest.
The first time you visit Lava Caves will be during Taash's mission and this particular quest will be inaccessible then; to trigger this quest, you'll have to visit this area after you kill the boss here and finish Taash's sidequest.
Inside this area. you'll come across a tower with three chests inside, and once you approach it, the new quest will unlock. Follow the quest to be able to easily track everything that has to be done. You'll notice that the optional objective will be to find the clues, so do that, follow each marker and find four different documents attached to four knight statues.
Some of the statues will be locked by the blight wines, destroy them to gain access to the statues. If you're having trouble finding the source of the blight, don't forget to call your friena Assan to clear the way for you. Once you find all the statues, read their inscriptions; only a couple of words are actually important within them.
Each inscription will hide a clue about the nights—your job will be to connect those clues. If you do not want to do it on your own, here is what you must pay attention to:
- Ser Dheon the Silent is a swordwoman, that's what the inscription says
- Ser Ifean, Beloved of the Moon is a shieldbearer
- Ser Rian, the Red carries a bow
- Ser Cruach, the Wolf wields a hammer
Now, with those information, go to the statues following a quest marker and investigate further. Behind each knight is a shield, revealing its name, so use this information. On the shield lying on the ground, there is the next inscription:
Four knights rode to battle.
One fired unto the rightward flank, her arrows a steel rain.
One lingered, their shield behind to guard all's back.
One went boldly to the fore, her sword thrust forward unto the foe.
One crept upon the leftward flank, his hammer a harvest reaped.
- The first line talks about the arrows, so it is Ser Rian, the Red. Find Ser Rian and turn it to her right side (make sure that she faces her right, not yours).
- The second line speaks about a shield bearer and It is Ser Ifean. Find his statue and turn him the way that he faces his shield with his back turned to others.
- The third line is about sword wielder, and it is Ser Dheon. Her statue must face forward
- The fourth line talks about hammer, and it is Ser Cruach, so make his statue face left (again, his left, not yours).
Once all the statues are in place, the door on the tower will open and you'll be rewarded with two small and one big chest, as well as one memento. If you're not sure how those statues must be placed, check out the image above.
