The Wraith is the ideal pick for those who want to get a good scare out of their opponents. Even though he is not very strong on his own, these perks will make him a part of everyone's nightmare.

The Wraith is one of the 5 starting killers in Dead by Daylight (others being the Trapper, the Huntress, the Hillbilly and the Nurse) and his unique ability has the community divided between whether or not he is too strong or too weak.

This all comes down to the perks he is using and these ones are the ones that synergise the best with the Hillbilly (in our opinion of course).

Perk Loadout

Jolt

When the killer puts a survivor into the dying state with a basic attack, all generators within 32 metres of the killer instantly explode and start regressing.

Jolt is the type of perk that pairs with Barbecue and Chilli perfectly and with Wraith's increased movement speed while invisible, moving from one part of the map to the next and playing around Jolt and Barbecue and Chilli is not that big of an issue.

Barbecue and Chilli

Most players regardless of what killer they play add Barbecue and Chilli to their loadout. Barbecue and Chilli is the Hillbilly's perk that grants aura-reading abilities once the killer is 40 metres away from a survivor.

Given that the Wraith has pretty big movement speed while cloaked, Barbecue and Chilli allows him to both get a sense of where the survivors are and plan out his next course of action.

Lethal Pursuer

At the start of the trial, the killer can see all of the auras of all the survivors for 7/8/9 seconds.

With Wraith's cloak and sneakiness, Letal Pursuer can truly turn Dead by Daylight into a horror game since most survivors are not as alert right at the start and are often alone fixing a generator in a jungle gym. This leaves a lot of opportunities to sneak up on a survivor and get an early hit and potential hook.

Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance

At the start of the trial, 4 random hooks are changed into Scourge Hooks, their aura is visible to the killer. The killer starts the trial with 4 tokens, each time a survivor is hooked on a Scourge Hook for the first time, 1 token is consumed and the generator with the most progression explodes and instantly regresses by 25% of its maximum possible progression. All survivors that were repairing that generator will scream, but their location will not be revealed.

After Pain Resonance activates, it'll push off any survivors working on a generator. If they are far away, Barbecue and Chilli will activate and reveal their auras, allowing the Wraith to make a play and potentially trigger Jolt which will further regress the generator.

Add-ons

The ideal add-ons for the Wraith are Shadow Dance - Blood and Shadow Dance - White ( Both add-ons decrease the time taken for breaking walls and pallets, damaging generators and vaulting windows while cloaked.)
