Scouts are a very useful addition to Assassin's Creed: Shadows, with mechanics that can get a bit confusing. If you use all your scouts, here is how to reload them and make them available again.

Adding scouts to Assassin's Creed: Shadows made the exploration and some other activities a bit more interesting because this Assassin's Creed doesn't follow the old formula of just following objectives on screen; this time, you must investigate on your own to uncover your next goal and destination.

While exploring the world or solving the quests, you'll come across some NPCs who will require your help, and if you decide to help them, they might become your scouts and do some wet work for you so you don't have to.

The number of scouts isn't infinite, and once you send them to do a task, they will become unavailable until the next season change. However, there's a way to reload scouts even midseason, and once you get used to their services, you'll want to learn how because it will be long to wait for a season to change to make them available again.

How to reload scouts midseason

To be able to reload scouts, you'll have to build Kakurega in your hideout. The first level of this building will allow you to unlock additional Kakuregas all over Japan. Once you find the area with Kakurega, its icon will be greyed out, but if you hover over it, you'll have the option to unlock it for 800 mon.

After unlocking a new Kakurega, you'll be able to use it as a fast-travel point, and inside each one, there will be a colourful decoration, which will allow you to reload scouts.

Unlocking each scout will cost you an additional 200 mon, but given how many mons you can earn by solving quests or looting random places, you'll use this ability very regularly. Apart from scouting the objectives, scouts can be used to gather resources for you as well and even to reset the wanted level in certain areas where Naoe or Yasuke behaved badly.
