Solving the puzzles that reveal the safe combinations in Alone in the Dark, the latest horror adventure developed by THQ Nordic, is one of the activities you will encounter while playing this game.
The safe you will encounter very early in the game but won't be able to find its combination until later is the one located inside the clerk's office, and upon interacting with it, Edward or Emily will comment that there's no way they can solve it just yet.

How to open the safe in clerk's office
To be able to unlock this safe regularly, you will have to wait for the end of the third chapter, when you will find Jeremy's contract with the Dark Man. After obtaining the contract and the Snake Dagger from the temple in the desert, you will be back in Derceto, and it will be the perfect time to go for this safe.
Make your way to the clerk's office and find the safe behind a book shelf. To find the combination, check the contract in your inventory. On the second page, there is a number written on the bottom left, and the number is 913. It is worth noting that this is not the only place to discover this code. If you make your way to Cassandra's room at this point in the game, you will discover the letter explicitly showcasing the code.
Of course, if you just discovered this safe and are early in the game, the save can be unlocked by entering this code. If you do so, Edward or Emily will comment something like that they are geniuses because they managed to guess the code.
