Alone in the Dark, the latest horror adventure developed by THQ Nordic, is a game with a lot of different puzzles that serve as the main gameplay mechanic, apart from very slow walking and very poorly implemented shooting mechanics.
There are so-called main mission puzzles related to the amulet the main character is carrying, and they are usually very hard to solve.
One such puzzle is waiting for you during the third chapter, where your goal will be to open a sarcophagus using your amulet in order to access the desert area and progress through the story. If you find this puzzle too challenging, we have a guide to help you easily solve it.
How to open the sarcophagus in Alone in the Dark
After the cutscene and your conversation with Jeremy, you will see a sarcophagus on some sort of stage with the prompt to open it. Once you interact with it, Edward will pull his amulet, ready to enter the code, provided you know which code to enter.
The answer lies on the floor, literally. Look on the floor and interact with some sort of medallion. You will notice three zodiac signs: Virgo on the small circle, Gemini on the medium, and Pisces on the big one. If you cross-reference those signs with the Perosi's Journal in your inventory, you will get three numbers: 852.
Enter number eight in the small circle, five in the medium, and two in the big one. This action will show you the very same room you are in in the glass part of the talisman. Exit the talisman and continue through the newly opened passage through the sarcophagus to continue your journey.
