Beenox and Activision have revealed free post-launch content for the upcoming kart racer Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled. The game will offer free events, tracks, karts, skins, characters and more in three Grand Prix seasonal updates.
A fresh batch of Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled details has been revealed today at E3 2019 and the main focus was on the game's free post-launch content, which is coming in Grand Prix seasonal updates.
Simply put, Grand Prix is Crash Team Racing's take on a battle pass, only, it's completely free. Activision and Beenox say that there will be a total of three Grand Prix events. Each event will introduce one new track that will remain available even after the event ends.
The first Grand Prix will start on 03 July 2019, just over a week after the game officially launches on 21 June 2019. It will include Twilight Tour track and allowing players to complete races to earn customisation items such as skins, karts, stickers and new characters.
Each Grand Prix will add a Nitro Gauge, which you'll have to fill up in order to unlock the mentioned rewards. It's been confirmed that depending on the success of the game, the devs will add even more Grand Prix events beyond the initial three.
Activision and Beenox also confirmed that Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled will launch with a staggering number of racing tracks - 31. Add a minimum of three more tracks and that's a lot of places to have fun solo or with your buddies.
Judging by the details we have for now, Crash Team Racing is shaping up pretty nicely and could be a proper fan-pleaser. We also got a brand new gameplay trailer which showcases some of the new maps, customisation items and some of the game's modes.
Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled is launching on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. As for the PC version, nothing is confirmed at the moment, but some recent rumours suggested that Activision could release the game on the Master Race platform at later date.
