Activision announced Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, the remaster of the beloved PlayStation game that will come to all consoles, but not PC. On the good side of things, it will still support local multiplayer, with up to four people.

Crash Team Racing remaster was teased for months now, and Activision finally announced the game during The Game Awards 2018. Now having "Nitro-Fueled" at the end of the title, the new kart racing, rocket-shooting extravaganza will come to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on 21 June 2019.

Staying true to the original game, the remaster that is being developed by Beenox will have local multiplayer, which is something games have seemingly been allergic to. It will support up to four players, like the original, but it's possible the cap was set in place due to PlayStation 4's limit of four controllers that can be connected.

There is currently no official information on the maximum kart count, but it's not excluded more than four racers will be able to participate in a single run as Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will also have an online multiplayer component. Imagine the chaos that would ensue with 10 racers and power-ups all over the place.

Speaking of which, the official announcement stated that the power-ups from the original game will be featured, just like the tracks, modes and controls. There will, however, be some brand new tracks to enjoy with the remaster, as well as new karts.

You can see Crash in different karts at 0:34 time stamp of the announcement trailer. This will likely serve as the game's recurring revenue source as well, along with character skins, which will be propelled by the online component.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled costs $39,99 / €39,99 / £34.99 and can be pre-ordered already. As usual, we encourage players to think before pre-ordering anything, especially since the PSN store refunds and pre-order cancellations are not available, except in countries where the law demands them to be an option.
