Activision and Beenox have rolled out a batch of steaming-fresh screenshots for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, which not only show off the upcoming release, they also compare the tracks from the original and the remastered version.
Additionally, PlayStation's State of Play provided some great news on the remastered version - Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will include content from Crash Nitro Kart, the game that followed the original.
This means that we'll be getting its 6 modes, 13 tracks, battle arenas and the whole shebang. Needless to say, they too will be getting facelifts in the vein of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.
And what a facelift it is - being fans of the original game, we must admit Beenox did a wonderful job, at least in the looks department.
This is perhaps even more important considering that the originals were developed by Naughty Dog and Vicarious Visions, respectively, meaning there are shoes to be filled here.
Nevertheless, if the actual gameplay ends up being as faithful, we've no doubt Activision will have another remasterware hit on their hands, just like they've had with their previous excursion into Crash Bandicoot IP.
Add to that the fact that sales have been increasingly switching to digital lately, and physical sales suddenly gain in importance - people want boxed editions of the games they enjoyed, especially ones they played when they were kids.
Considering the sort of fan favourite Crash Team Racing was, even played by people who didn't care much for the franchise, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled's future bodes well.
