Ubisoft decided to add more incentives to preorder The Division 2, in the form of a choice of a free game between Watch Dogs 2, Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Far Cry Primal. Those who own these games will get a different, unspecified, gift.
Ubisoft's free game offer for pre-ordering The Division 2 will stand until 14 March 2019. This means we will slightly alter our usual disclaimer that asks readers to wait until the game releases and reviews happen. In The Division 2's case, you will have a better opportunity to make a proper choice on whether you want to commit your money to the game.
The Division 2 open beta will run from 01 through 04 March 2019, so you will have a chance to try the game out for yourself, see if you like it and have almost two weeks afterwards to decide if you want to preorder. Therefore, before shelling out your money, we would advise you try the game out first during open beta and then decide.
Those who preorder The Division 2 will get an option in uPlay to redeem one of the three aforementioned games for free. While each game has its own appeal, Ghost Recon: Wildlands stands out among the crowd and will likely be the most claimed game.
In case you are a super Ubisoft fan so you already own all three games and preorder The Division 2, you will not be left empty handed. Those fans will receive a "special gift" and they will be notified about it around the same time The Division 2 launches. Ubisoft folks seem to have thought this through and nothing got by them, so attempting to preorder and then cancel it just to get the free game will not work as the proposed game will be removed from your account.
Players will not be able to redeem any of the titles until 15 March 2019, when The Division 2 launches and they will have around two weeks to do so. The redeem window will close on 31 March 2019.
