Dota 2 TI19 sets new prize pool record

Dota 2's International is reaffirmed in 2019 as the Heavy-Hiter among esports in time for August finals, at least in terms of prize pools. Well over $25.000.000 await as 2018's record total is again left in the dust of esports history.

League of Legends Clash returns to PBE

League of Legends players have been patiently waiting for the return of Clash and it seems the time will come soon. Public Beta Environment (PBE) will be updated on 2 July 2019 for another round of Clash testing with a new format.

Account boosting now illegal in Korea

Account boosting is an issue in just about any competitive video game and South Korea is the first country to start regulating it. Account boosters can now face up to two years in prison as well as fines depending on the crime severity.

League of Legends patch 9.14 to deploy one week later than usual

Riot Games usually stick to a two-week patch cycle but three-week cycles happen now and then. League of Legends patch 9.14 will be caught by one of those cycles but it is not really weird to see since it will bring major content updates.

League of Legends unavailable in Iran & Syria

League of Legends players from Iran and Syria can't access the game anymore. This is apparently not Riot Games' decision, but rather a result of the US government's sanctions against the latter two governments due to increased tension.

Riot Games walking into another PR nightmare

Riot Games walked into a PR problem after they banned one streamer following a report from a bigger streamer. League of Legends community split in support for each side but the controversy brought Riot's preferential treatment to light.

Nightblue3 banned after griefing fiesta

Riot Games have recently banned Nubrac, a League of Legends streamer not many people liked after another streamer, Nightblue3, reported him. The latter was now banned as well for the displayed toxicity during the controversial ranked match.

Riot Games have released another Riot Pls video which usually brings good news along. This was the case with the latest episode as well since New001 announced that death recap will finally be fixed. Oh and the client is getting an update.

League of Legends World Championship date and venues revealed

Riot Games have announced League of Legends World Championship dates and venues. The main event of Season 9 will commence on 2 October 2019 and will be held in three major European cities across three countries - Berlin, Madrid and Paris.

League of Legends developer Riot Games found themselves in a pickle when gender-based controversy sparked the emotions. It led to a series of events that culminated in DFEH investigation that Riot are apparently not co-operating with.

Riot Games have recently reworked Mordekaiser in League of Legends, making just about everyone happy to have his bugs gone. They made some fans happier though since one has been lobbying for two years to get the iron goliath's rework.

Riot Games are rolling out League of Legends update 9.12 that brings changes to Sylas, a complete rework to Mordekaiser and a big kick in the jewels to Ryze. We can't say we are not glad he is getting wrecked by the nerf hammer though.

Riot Games have posted a teaser trailer for Qiyana, quickly followed by ability reveal trailer that also showcased some of her personality that may just give Draven a run for his money. She is an assassin that interacts with the map.

Riot Games are going to balance League of Legends with a different mindset in the future. Lower ranked players will get more say in League balance as less attention will be given to the top 10 per cent on the ladder and pro players.

Riot Games have published the results of the League of Legends rework poll. It was initially intended to bring out only one candidate for but Riot decided to honour the close finish and provide reworks for both Fiddlesticks and Volibear.

Tencent to cut Arena of Valor west marketing

Tencent and Riot Games recently made headlines after it was reported they are working on the mobile version of League of Legends. Now it seems the game's previous mobile clone, Arena of Valor will lose support due to resource reallocation.

LoL Morderkaiser rework details revealed

Riot Games have revealed how the reworked Mordekaiser will look, what his abilities will do and how League of Legends' metal revenant will start kidnapping people. He also mostly lost references to metal songs in his ability names.

Riot Games and Tencent have had several bouts in the past regarding the potential mobile port of League of Legends. The developers were initially hesitant to do the port but now it seems like Tencent are getting what they asked for.

Rift Rivals 2019 dates and teams revealed

League of Legends has just concluded MSI 2019 but the EU vs NA finals was not enough of the rivalry apparently. Rift Rivals event will pit the regions against each other on 27 June 2019 and will be held at the LCS Studio in Los Angeles.

G2 Esports have conquered Team Liquid in the finals of League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational 2019, marking the first time the tournament was won by a European team rather than an Asian one. Looks like congratulations are in order.

League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2019 didn't show too many surprises in the group stage but the play-off stage turned everything on its head. Team Liquid stomped the world champions and G2 beat the Korean champions.

Riot Games have shaken up League of Legends meta again with patch 9.10, nerfing one of the most controversial items - Guinsoo's Rageblade. The main users of the item started suffering, starting Vayne and Master Yi's losing streak.

Yuumi's extremely low win rate in LoL

Yuumi apparently debuted on Summoner's Rift in a fairly underpowered state since her win rate was about 30 per cent recently. Riot Games were quick to react and implemented a hotfix that buffed several stats and all of her abilities.

EA used to have Dawngate, a MOBA by Waystone Studios in development and not many people remember it nowadays. It is a story of late trend adoption EA never learned from, the same EA being decent for once and a fan-made resuscitation.
