Valve are still looking to stick to their promised weekly update schedule for Dota Underlords, which is great for players and a proverbial gold vein for data miners. Assets for sixteen new heroes have been spotted in the game's files.
Anything Valve can throw into Dota Underlords will be instantly familiar to Dota 2 players, but with well over a hundred heroes to choose from and 60 already in the game, it isn't entirely clear which ones the developers will prioritise.

Speculation is currently leaning in the direction of seasonal rotations for hero pools, so it's as good as a given that the entirety of the Dota 2 hero line-up will eventually be part of Underlords. This would make sense as balancing the entire roster would be a bonus nightmare on top of an already strongly reliant RNG system.
The data mining also uncovered some features likely to appear in the next couple of weekly updates. Chief among these are the replay and chat features, as the former is completely absent, while the is later only using mobile-friendly pre-defined messages.
A probably much-requested means of speeding the game up overall seems to be on its way as well in the form of a "Turbo mode". While Underlords can get pretty hectic if one is clumsily juggling around heroes with a full bench, there is a lot of downtime and breaks between player input.
Some of the titular Underlords are unlikely to appear before some sort of set is ready for deployment, and Valve are probably going to add other social features, more game boards, and cosmetic items in before introducing an additional layer of complexity to the game itself.
