Yugi Muto, from the anime series Yu-Gi-Oh is set to join Jump Force in 2019 according to an announcement from Bandai Namco that contained a teaser image of the sort-of-fighter. More info & gameplay will be made available in following days.

Jump Force is the anime fan's video game version of a wet dream that is coming in 2019 and Bandai Namco have announced another franchise that will be featured there - Yu-Gi-Oh! as Yugi Muto will join the fighter roster.

It is hard to imagine Yugi being on par with the likes of Goku, Vegeta or Ryuk as he doesn't possess any fighting prowess since Yu-Gi-Oh! is all about Duel Monsters which is basically Hearthstone or Magic: The Gathering with holograms.

The teaser image above shows the version of Yugi when his body is taken over by the spirit of the pharaoh that possessed him, so he doesn't exactly look like a child. It is implied that Yami Yugi will be the one handling the duels as he usually does in the anime too. On that note, he will probably be able to deploy monsters from his deck to duke it out with the creatures and characters from other franchises that actually have fighting expertise.

There is currently no concrete info on how Yugi will be played or what his powers will be, but more screenshots and gameplay have been announced by Bandai Namco. According to the official Facebook post, the full reveal will happen during Tokyo Game Show which will start on 20 September 2018.

Bandai Namco didn't confirm whether Yugi will be available in a playable demo as they only stated "more information and trailer about [Yugi's] fighting style" will be coming in the following days.

Meanwhile, another fan was disgruntled due to Yugi appearing in the game while Gintoki hasn't been announced yet, which warranted an official response. It was a quite interesting one that seemingly hinted at Gintoki's future appearance since Bandai Namco stated "There is still time until the release. Your favourite anime could totally be in JUMP FORCE". Fingers crossed!
