Microsoft and Xbox have today officially confirmed the date and time for their big summer showcase. The event will air on June 9 starting at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 7 PM CET.
Xbox confirmed that just like last year with Starfield, their big showcase will be followed by another direct but this time around, the publisher decided to keep things under wraps, mentioning only that the game is of a beloved franchise.
"Like our double-feature last year with Starfield Direct, immediately following the Showcase we’ll be airing a special deep-dive into the next installment of a beloved franchise. We can’t say much, so for now we’ll call it the Xbox Games Showcase followed by [REDACTED] Direct," it's written in the announcement.
However, it does look like the direct will be for the next Call of Duty game, judging by the key art. Additionally, The Verge's Tom Warren reported that the next Call of Duty game will indeed be revealed at the show.
Xbox also stated that this will be their first show ever with games from studios across Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda and Xbox Game Studios so expect to see a lot of new games.
Some rumours suggested that we could see Gears 6 announced at the event in addition to new trailers for already announced games like State of Decay 3, Perfect Dark, Everwild and more.
All in all, it's certainly an exciting time if you're an Xbox fan as the publisher will have more games than ever before at their showcase.
