World of Warships has had it share of wacky customisations and whatnot but it's hard to imagine anything beating the new commander - the Statue of Liberty.

Of all the things one didn't expect to happen, a voiced Statue of Liberty in a game about naval warfare is probably at the top of the list. And yet, that's exactly what's happening today in World of Warships as Wargaming kicks off an event themed after the US Independence Day.

Lady Liberty will be unlocked through the limited-time mission chain that is made of six parts. The missions will be available until July 13, 2022, and completing all of the will award you the unique commander. As we mentioned previously, she is fully voiced so that will be quite the sight to see, and hear.

In any case, the Statue is not the sole incentive to get into the event. San Diego, Tier VIII ship will be available for purchase, starting on July 1, 2022, along with sequential bundles in the Armory.

The bundles will provide San Diego and Kearsarge as well as a specialisation for San Diego for Statue of Liberty, along with the 1776 permanent camouflage for it and more.

On top of that, if San Diego and Kearsarge are not enough to satisfy your thirst for US vessels, the costs for researchable ships originating in the country will be halved. Some of the highlights are the battleship Kansas as well as another oddball commander - Leroy Jenkins.
