Digital Extremes have rolled out this year's Halloween event in Warframe called Nights of Naberus, and announced a bunch of improvements for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The dev most certainly knows how to create a proper atmosphere, as you'll soon see from the trailer. Warframe: Nights of Naberus' description reads, "On Naberus, beauty is banished. Rot and monstrosity hold sway. And Daughter couldn’t be more excited!"

To further drive the Halloween spirit home, Daughter will be dressing up in costume and offering limited-time rewards in the Naberus-themed store in the Necralisk. As for the payment, Warframe players will pay her in Mother Tokens.

As for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One improvements, Warframe has started what the dev calls "the great ensmallening", i.e. reduction of the game's overall size by remastering textures and lightmaps game-wide. So, the game's installation on specific platforms will shrink by:

  • PS4: 41GB to 22.6GB
  • Xbox One: 64GB to 31.2GB

Note that Nintendo Switch owners are also headed for their own ensmallening, but that will take a bit more time.

Console players are getting some Xaku changes as well, where the once-broken warrior now deals neutrally effective Void damage with Xata's Whisper, disarms their foes quicker with Grasp of Lokh and inflicts increased damage with Deny.

In addition to the Oscira Bundle's high-tech cosmetics and fresh skins for your Mech and Velocipods, Warframe is getting Helminth Railjack resource changes.

"Railjack Resource costs required to yield Helminth Secretions have been reduced across the board! Additionally, Resources will be delivered to the Inboxes of players who own a Railjack and have a Helminth installed sometime after the update launches. Keep your eyes on the forums as we’ll be posting a PSA to let you know when to expect your Resource bundle", Digital Extremes wrote.
