Valorant's Executive Producer Anna Donlon and Game Director Joe Ziegler have shared the news about the game's release date on the title's YouTube channel. The date was confirmed on today's Summer Game Fest stream.
Valorant's release date has officially been set for June 2, 2020. The confirmation came during today's Summer Game Fest stream when Riot Games joined Geoff Keighley to announce the happy news.
The stream also brought news of a new agent, a fresh map and an extra game mode - all of which will be available at launch.
An emotional rollercoaster of a video was also shared on Valorant's YouTube channel . In the 56 second video, Executive Producer Anna Donlon and Game Director Joe Ziegler take the viewers on a journey that starts out looking like the powers that be will delay the game.
Instead, the duo reports that, instead of a few months, Valorant will be releasing in a couple of weeks. On June 2 to be as precise as we can be.
The video currently has a bunch of comments of fans saying how happy they are the game wasn't actually delayed and sharing their excitement for the upcoming launch.
In recent Valorant news, their anti-cheat software named Vanguard is earning its paycheck (we believe it has a bunch of ones and zeros) by sometimes detecting cheaters minutes into the game and quickly removing them from the equation.
Last week, just under 9,000 accounts were banned and the cheaters humiliated by Phillip Koskinas who works on Riot Games' anti-cheat measures.
Thread carefully from June 2, onward and see you in-game.
