Riot Games revealed the details regarding the upcoming Valorant First Strike tournament series, the schedule and some eligibility details but most rules will be revealed later.
Valorant First Strike will commence on November 9, 2020, with the open qualifiers which will last for almost two weeks. The last day of the qualifiers is November 22, meaning that there is roughly one month left for everyone to practice their game.
Almost a month later, the main event will go on from December 3 to 6. Quarterfinals will take place during the first two days, followed by semifinals on December 5 and the grand finals on December 6.
All the matches before the finals will be in the best of three format while the grand finals will be a best of five series. While it may turn out to be exhausting for the participants, esports fans are in for a treat.
Meanwhile, open qualifiers will be split into four separate tournaments with two happening each week during the time window in November. Top 16 teams from each tournament will advance to the play-in stage and have a chance to qualify for the playoffs.
Every team can participate in all four of the open qualifier tournaments, giving them a total of four chances to advance to the main event.
As for eligibility, every player over 16 that has achieved the rank of Immortal 1 at the time of registration or during the preceding Act can join.
