Valorant Champions now has all the essential information for the fans and only needs to commence so the biggest spectacle of the year for the competitive community can shine.
Riot Games announced that Valorant 's most prestigious event of the year, Valorant Champions, will happen from December 1 to 12, 2021.
Berlin, Germany, will be the host city for the tournament and there will be 16 participating teams in total. Most of them will qualify through VCT Masters - 11 teams will get there through circuit points while the winner of Masters 3 will be automatically qualified, regardless of their points up to that moment. This leaves four teams to fill the roster of Valorant Champions and they will secure their spots through the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ).
As far as distribution by regions goes, this is what it should look like:
- North America - two teams with circuit points and one through LCQ
- EMEA - two teams with circuit points and one through LCQ
- Brazil - two teams with circuit points and possibly one through LCQ
- Latin America - one team with circuit points and possibly one through LCQ
- Japan - one team with circuit points and possibly one through LCQ
- Southeast Asia - two teams with circuit points and possibly one through LCQ
- Korea - one team with circuit points and possibly one through LCQ
Those possible qualifiers refer to the fact that two or more regions will be merged for their respective LCQ. Brazil and Latin America will be in the same pool but only one team will make it to Champions. Similarly, Japan, SEA and Korea are in the same pool.
