Nintendo Switch exclusive Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is off to a great start in the UK. The game has debuted at No.1 on UK boxed chart, leaving behind another Switch exclusive Animal Crossing.
The remake of the original Xenoblade Chronicles title from Nintendo Wii is doing exceptionally well on the UK physical sales chart. The Definitive Edition debuted at No.1, dethroning another Nintendo Switch exclusive - Animal Crossing.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition sold more than double that the original managed to ship way back in August 2011. However, the sales are below 2017's Xenoblade Chronicles but it is worth noting that the sequel arrived during Christmas sale.
As always, the data does not include digital downloads from the Nintendo eShop, only, boxed game sales which can be a bit misleading since most of the purchases in 2020 are digital. Here is the top ten for the week ending May 30 2020:
- Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
- Grand Theft Auto 5
- FIFA 20
- Days Gone
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
- Minecraft (Switch)
- The Last of Us: Remastered
- PlayStation VR Worlds
As you can see, heavy hitters like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, FIFA 20 and GTA V are still doing great while some PS4 titles like Days Gone and The Last of Us: Remastered managed to climb back to top 10.
