Sumo Digital's and Sega's Team Sonic Racing is off to a strong start in its launch week according to the latest UKIE/GfK physical sales charts. For the week ending on Saturday, 25 May 2019, Team Sonic Racing managed to top the list, almost doubling the launch week sales of the previous title in the series - 2012's Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.
This is also the first time that Sega's game with Sonic the Hedgehog topped the charts since 2008 when Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games managed to do that.
As for the rest of the list, last week's champion - Bethesda's shooter Rage 2 slipped to fourth place with 73 per cent week-over-week decline in sold units which is a bit disappointing for the sequel.
Days Gone and FIFA 19, which held second and third place last week respectively, saw small declines but managed to hold their chart positions. Ubisoft's remaster of Assassin's Creed III for Switch saw a debut this week, taking the 15th spot on the charts.
There a couple of returning titles which declined out of top 40 in the two previous weeks. 4A Games' Metro Exodus reached its second straight week of gains in both unit sales and chart positions.
Its sales were boosted by 159 per cent in the previous week and 49 per cent in the latest chart, meaning that Metro is now placed 16th. Just Cause 4 also picked up the pace after dropping out of top 40. Avalanche Studio's action adventure saw an increase in the last three weeks and took 21st spot on the chart.

Here is the UKIE/GfK Top Ten chart but keep in mind that the list only includes physical sales, not digital.
