Today, Ubisoft have revealed a brand new trailer for their upcoming pirate sim Skull and Bones, which is finally coming out this November. The trailer focuses on exclusive PC features, which will be available in the game on launch.
Players with weaker hardware will be happy to hear that Ubisoft have implemented both Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR upscaling technologies that should help boost the frame rate with a minor resolution hit.
As for ray tracing, both Nvidia and AMD cards will support ray-traced Global illumination. Sadly, there is no mention of other ray-tracing technology in Skull and Bones which suggests the game will use standard screen space reflections and shadows.
Skull and Bones won't be overly demanding game but if you're looking to push the visual fidelity to the max at 4K resolution you'll need a pretty expensive card - Nvidia RTX 3080 or AMD FX 6800XT - and even then you'll have to use the Balanced presets in DLSS and FSR options.
Here's a table of PC system requirements for various graphical presets and resolutions:
The trailer also showcases a wide variety of graphical settings, which is not surprising for a Ubisoft game. Traditionally, Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs and other Ubisoft franchises always offered many sliders and presets to choose from as well as built-in benchmarks that show how well the game runs on those settings.
Skull and Bones is officially releasing on November 8, 2022.
