Activision announced Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 is coming to the new consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 26, and to the Nintendo Switch for the first time later in 2021.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2, a faithful and great remake of one of the most iconic skateboarding games of all time, is coming soon to new platforms. Following its release on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in August last year, the remake is now coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.
The release date for Microsoft's and Sony's new consoles is set for next month - March 26, 2021. As for Nintendo's hybrid console, Activision confirmed Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is indeed launching on the system but a bit later in 2021, which will probably disappoint Switch owners who expected simultaneous release with PS5 and XSX. Still, better late than never, right?
The next-gen port will include improved resolution, spatial audio, high-fidelity atmospherics among other things. As for the frame-rate, you can expect super crisp 120 FPS at 1080p or 60 FPS in native 4K (only PS5 and XSX, Xbox Series S versions will render at 1440P and upscale to 4K.)
The pre-orders for the game are now open for PS5 and XSX and Activision confirmed digital players can upgrade to the Cross-Gen Deluxe Bundle with all the added next-gen features for a suggested retail price of $10, including access to the secret skater The Ripper, retro gear for Create-A-Skater, and retro skins for Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, and Rodney Mullen.
Players who already own the Digital Deluxe Edition on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can download the next-gen upgrade at no cost (except in Japan) on March 26.
