CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is getting a make-over worthy of the next generation. The new edition of the game will feature a range of visual and technical improvements.

CD Projekt Red are working on bringing Geralt and his adventures from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to the next generation. The polish developer shared the happy news via Twitter.

"Developed to take advantage of the most powerful gaming hardware, the next-gen edition of the game will feature a range of visual and technical improvements — including ray tracing and faster loading times — across the base game, both expansions, and all extra content" reads CD Projekt Red's announcement.  

The next-generation edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt base game, its two expansions and bonus content will be up for grabs as a standalone purchase for players on PC, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

Those who already own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be offered a free upgrade to the new edition. 

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released by CD Projekt red back in 2015. A Nintendo Switch version of the game was released in October 2019. 

It is the third game in the series based on The Witcher series of fantasy novels by Andrzej Sapkowski. The game's story follows the adventures of Geralt of Rivia, a monster slayer for hire.
