We've already had Bethesda's Pete Hines crush our hopes of seeing The Elder Scrolls VI anytime soon and now it seems like ZeniMax are trying to drive the point even further home, mentioning it's likely to launch on the next gen of consoles.
ZeniMax and TES Online's game director Matt Firor said that he's not even sure "what the world is going to be like when it comes out". If that wasn't hint enough that we're talking about the distant future, the man mentioned that he's confident it will be in time for the next generation of consoles.
Firor concluded by saying that it's anyone's guess at the moment, so ZeniMax and Bethesda are obviously fully focused on the now, i.e. Fallout 76. Other than telling us they're not thinking about it, he said he's certain they're "free and clear for a long time".
This practically echoes the opinion of Bethesda's Pete Hines, who already stated that it'll be a " " until The Elder Scrolls VI is even in development. Coincidentally, he also seemed terribly interested in discussing the next generation of consoles, for whatever it's worth.
As a matter of fact, Hines said that the only reason we know about Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI is because Bethesda didn't want to freak people out with their foray into multiplayer waters. The company is rightfully proud of its games boasting legendary singleplayer components. They are proud of Skyrim too, several times actually.
We've recently caught wind of ZeniMax trademarking the , which only makes sense as the official moniker for The Elder Scrolls VI. Well, either that or Bethesda is working on another title they've not been telling us about, which although extremely unlikely, isn't impossible.

Nevertheless, the likelihood of hearing anything concrete about The Elder Scrolls VI seems to be directly related to how big of a splash will Fallout 76 make and will Starfield be worth it to delay the franchise that probably qualifies as a medical addiction by now.
