The Callisto Protocol is still on schedule to release in the second half of 2022, the publisher Krafton confirm.
Krafton have confirmed in their latest growth strategy report that The Callisto Protocol is still targeting 2022 for the release date. Krafton said that the game is an AAAA level of quality and is coming in the second half of this year.
They also mention "highest level of quality, maximum horror experience and distinguished action mechanics" in the report. It's safe to say that the publisher seem very confident in the dev team.
The Callisto Protocol is certainly one of the hotly anticipated next-gen titles that we'll get to play very soon but ever since the official reveal a couple of years ago, we haven't heard much about this new survival horror from the co-creator of Dead Space, Glen Schofield.
Schofield and his Striking Distance Studio have been busy working on the game in partnership with Krafton and promise a stunning horror experience but we still haven't seen any gameplay or in-engine trailers.
That should change very soon, though, as The Callisto Protocol is featured in the gaming magazine Game Informer this month and will have a brand new trailer at the Summer Game Fest in June or July.
The game uses Unreal Engine 5 and it's set in the PUBG universe, which is more like a marketing trick and strategy than an actual setting since The Callisto Protocol takes place on a space station filled with all sorts of horrors and we know PUBG is far cry from such themes.
The Callisto Protocol is confirmed to be launching on the PC platform, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There won't be a last-gen version.
