Firefly Studios just shared 10 mone minutes of Stronghold: Warlords' gameplay. The new gameplay video reveals six customisable siege defences that will be available at launch on September 29.
Various forms of traps and outer defences will be available to the players who find themselves in need of some strong protection for their castle against the 16 unique troop types and 10 siege weapons in Stronghold: Warlords.
The traps will range from classic Stronghold staples to new gunpowder-fuelled defensive traps unique to this new entry in the series.
New defensive options will include proximity traps as well as those the players themselves need to trigger manually. For example, a tiger will bust out of its cage and charge the approaching troops - even your own - but the gunpowder trails will need some gentle coaxing done by a flaming arrow to display their destructive power.
Wooden defences will also be available in the initial campaign missions and early skirmish modes, which will give players some cost-effective options to mount a quick defence in the early game.
The wooden defences will include Arrow Towers, castle wall Hoardings and wooden Barricades, all of which serve as excellent secondary defences for those inclined to turtle during a mission or multiplayer match.
However they decide to customise their keep, players will be able to do so with even more defence options and traps when Stronghold: Warlords launches on September 29.
