Firefly's new Stronghold: Warlords will have a bonus campaign. The economy-oriented campaign will be available at launch and will feature the Scribe along with six missions that will include unique economic events and objectives.
Firefly Studios has announced that their upcoming RTS Stronghold: Warlords title will feature a bonus campaign. The extra campaign will focus on the economics of the players' towns and outposts - similar to the original game from 2001.
The economy-oriented campaign will be available at launch and will include the Scribe, a fan-favourite character, along with six missions that will feature unique economic events and objectives.
Firefly's new RTS game will include various single-player game modes. Its main story will be split between the combat-heavy military campaign and the city-builder oriented bonus one. The full four-part historical military campaign will be set across ancient Vietnam, China, Japan and Mongolia.
The players will have to do a sort of a balancing act between castle besieging and economic gameplay to claim victory in over 24 missions.
Additionally, there will be a new 'Path of Peace' bonus campaign centred around castle building, resource gathering and reacting to feudal events. These events will be able to boost or crush a player’s popularity and they will change fortunes with the coming of monsoon rains, lightning storms, bandit attacks, wildfires, festivals, typhoons and more. It is an RTS, after all.
The new castle sim mechanics Stronghold: Warlords will introduce will see the players waging wars against their enemies as well as against the thinning food supplies, accidental gunpowder explosions, local bandits and revolt from their own peasants.
You'll be able to build Temples to produce "Spirit", the well-known Hovels will house your people and the farms will put food on the table.
Entertainment and torture devices will be available as well. You can build these to affect your people's perception of you and their mood can also be altered using taxes.
Stronghold: Warlords is set to launch this year on Steam, and you can find out more on the game's official website .
