Sony have found a perfect response for being lambasted in the media over their insistence on snubbing cross-play with Nintendo Switch by offering this simply amazing PS4 bundle that comes with a free copy of Fortnite: Battle Royale.

The Fortnite PS4 bundle is set to arrive on 16 July 2018, with an exclusive Royale Bomber skin, supposedly built especially for PlayStation 4 and 500 V-Bucks. The news came from PlayStation Italia page on Facebook, who seem to have jumped the gun on the announcement.

If you needed more proof of Sony's benevolence, the Fortnite PS4 bundle will actually be priced the same as the regular PlayStation 4. I'm not sure about you but this is surely enough to save the company a place somewhere between Mother Theresa and Mahatma Ghandi.

In all seriousness though, I'm aware that Epic Games aren't interested in bad blood with Sony, or anyone else for that matter, but I do feel slightly bit aggrieved they've opted to greenlight this project at the moment. Note that my idealistic views should be a measure for anything, I simply had to say it.

In case you've been living under Dusty Depot, Sony have not only disabled cross-play between the PS4 and Nintendo's Switch, they've actually blocked accounts made on the Switch from playing on PS4 and vice versa. Naturally, nobody except the most hard core of fan boys stood in Sony's defense.

What this means in practice is that if you've got an account, where you might've purchased Fortnite cosmetics, you're pretty much stuck on either respective platform. Obviously, the money you didn't give to Sony is money you've spent in vain, for which Sony, the galactic justice maker and friend of gaming, will simply not stand for.

Thankfully, the PlayStation 4 bundle fixes it all and Sony are completely forgiven for being heinous Blueholes. Also, with Microsoft and Nintendo's high horse riding, gaming alternatives have never been better. Ultimately, and on an semi-serious note, I'm not even sure how did we get to the place where these corporate bigwigs became gaming.

Epic's Fortnite: Battle Royale strikes a perfect balance between realism and fun, despite the somewhat casual feel. Whatever your flavour is, the game's got it. Shooting? Building? More shooting? Boogie Bombs? What would you need kind sir?
