Konami have shared the official Silent Hill 2 Remake system requirements and it's safe to say that you'll need a beefy rig if you want to push this one to the max.
Following the official announcement of Silent Hill 2 Remake at last night's special showcase, Konami have revealed the minimum and recommended specs for the PC version.
The specs, which you can find below, are surprisingly high, and the recommendations that Konami mentions on Steam probably won't sit well with many players.
Konami seem to suggest that RTX 2080 or Radeon 6800XT won't be enough for 60 FPS on High settings on 1440p resolution. But here are the official specs so see it for yourself if your rig is powerful enough for acceptable performance in Silent Hill 2 Remake.
MINIMUM:
For the minimum specs, Konami note that these are for playing on Low to Medium quality settings in 1080p resolution. According to Konami, such a configuration will give players a stable 30 FPS.
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 x64
- Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 | AMD Ryzen 3 3300X
- Memory: 12 GB RAM
- Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5700 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 50 GB available space
RECOMMENDED:
Konami say that the specs below will be enough to play the game on Medium settings in 60 FPS or High settings in 30 FPS in 1080p resolution.
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 11 x64
- Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K | AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 2080 RTX or AMD Radeon 6800XT
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 50 GB available space
All in all, it's certainly not ideal that Silent Hill 2 Remake system specs are this high but let's wait the actual release before we jump to conclusions.
Speaking about the release, Silent Hill 2 Remake does not have an official release date. We only know it's coming to PlayStation 5 and PC at some point in the near future.
