Gamepires have rolled out the latest patch to their prisoner survival unload-fest that is SCUM and among the first things on the menu are ultra wide displays and random spawning, as well as news on netcode fixes that the dev is working on.
First things first though, since server lag seems to be the main issue and the only one that's even remotely close to game-breaking. "And yes we are working on the server lag as we speak, we just want to make sure it comes out in the best shape as possible. Its on top of our priority list", Gamepires said on their Steam page.
As for the patch 0.1.17.8433, it adds ultra wide display compatibility both client and server-side. This goes for super ultra-wide displays, or whatever language-mangling monstrosity you've found in between these formats.
Also fixed was random spawning on login which occurred on some characters. Gamepires lowered the ambient sounds in character creation screen and did some chat improvements. The chat now boasts more responsive scroll bar and enter-to-close if input field is blank.
It appears the 's changes over-nerfed the sentries, which will now miss less bullets. We're not sure whether this means their freshly increased cone of fire was tweaked back or it's just a fixed solution. Either way, it's not like sentry hunting is something you'll be doing. At least not more than once or twice.
SCUM players will now hear bullets from much further away, which is Gamepires' way of promoting bloodshed. Speaking of bloodshed, the dev tweaked spawn rates and there will be more animals from now on, with varying health pools and weapon susceptibility.
To be honest, I'm surprised someone hasn't raised vegan concerns in SCUM yet. I haven't had any luck googling it either, because it ended up searching for a totally different thing. Try it, I dare you.
SCUM's bulletproof vests now have 8 inventory slots and there's a bunch of bug fixes and tweaks.
