Sam Barlow, the director of 2009's survival horror Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is currently pitching a sequel to this underrated title. This could mean we are getting another Shattered Memories story in the upcoming years but keep in mind that the project is still in pitching phase.
Barlow confirmed the news via his Twitter profile where he joked about his answer to an interviewer who asked about Shattered Memories follow-up. "[that feeling when] an interviewer asks what you'd do to make a Shattered Memories follow-up today but you can't tell them because you're currently pitching that thing," Barlow tweeted, confirming that he is interested in working on another Silent Hill game.
He also clarified that Silent Hill has nothing to do with the other mysterious title he is currently working on - Project A. "this is not Project A (also spooky and awesome) it's the next next game," he confirmed.
So it looks like that Barlow will start the work on the next Shattered Memories title only when the development of Project A is wrapped up.
All in all, it will take a while before we find out more about Silent Hill: Shattered Memories follow up but at least we know that the game is pretty much underway now and we don't have any doubts that it will turn out great, just like its predecessor.
