Silent Hill reboot is apparently in the works for a year and a half now and will be an exclusive for PlayStation 5. The original creators Toyama, Ito, and Yamaoka are working on the game along with Sony Japan Studio.
Silent Hill reboot rumours just won't go away despite Konami's recent confirmation that these reports are not true . The latest one comes from a reliable insider Dusk Golem aka AestheticGamer. As you may know, Dusk Golem correctly revealed several details about Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes and recently shared some info on the next Resident Evil game .
Anyway, in the latest post over at ResetEra , Dusk Golem revealed a ton of new information about the Silent Hill reboot. The insider claims that the game is indeed in development for almost a year and a half now by the original creators Keiichiro Toyama, Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamaoka who are working together with Sony Japan Studio.
Furthermore, the game is set to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive since Sony are funding the development but the actual budget is very small when compared to some other games that Sony have in the works. The leaker also claims that Sony do not expect to set the world on fire with the game but since the original creators are working on the game and Silent Hill is a powerful brand, it is possible that the game becomes a major success.
As for the announcement and a potential release date, Dusk Golem claims that the game should be revealed sometime this year but due to the current situation, it is hard to predict a concrete release window.
You can find the full post on ResetEra , which also includes a lot of other information about funding and how Sony and Konami came to an agreement to start developing the game.
As always, you should take this with a grain of salt just like any other rumour or unconfirmed info, even if the source is pretty reliable.
