Capcom are yet to officially confirm the work on the next major instalment in their popular survival-horror series Resident Evil. However, after a couple of remakes and one spin-off game, it looks like the Japanese developer are ready to reveal their next big title to the world.
According to the reliable Resident Evil leaker Aesthetic Gamer aka Dusk Golem, Capcom are set to announce Resident Evil 8 in the next few months with more info and details about the game coming "later this month".
Apparently, Resident Evil 8 is the name of the game but this was not always the case. During its entire development, the game existed as Resident Evil: Revelations 3 and it received "super positive" feedback during internal testing.
The leaker also confirms that earlier rumours about Ethan as a protagonist and a story set in a snowy village with werewolves are true but also a bit outdated so it is possible that things changed since then.
Now, for the controversial part, Resident Evil 8 will be first-person, which many hardcore fans certainly won't like. On top of this, it will explore different themes such as occultism, hallucinations and insanity. "Not being able to trust others" is also a huge theme of the next game, Dusk Golem claims.
As previously leaked, Resident Evil 8 will arrive in 2021 and will be cross-gen title, which means you can expect it on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X along with PC.
