To be fair, GTA has become one of those games whose sequels you don't even doubt anymore, but we still didn't mind hearing about Rockstar's development efforts, which in GTA 6's case have apparently been going on for more than a year.
The employee in question is 3d artist Bibin Michael, whose name you can find among Red Dead Redemption 2 credits as well, so the story seems to check out for the most part.
Having worked for Codemasters, as well as on Forza games, it looks like Michael is a car modelling specialist.
According to Michael's resume, his experience includes working on vehicle concepts for GTA 6 from December 2017 to April 2018, although this stint apparently included the same for GTA V DLC too.
Now, this timeline suggests that Rockstar started creating vehicles for GTA 6 in December 2017, almost a full year before they rolled out Red Dead Redemption 2. This is a bit fishy considering that Rockstar put most of their weight behind RDR2 at the time.
On the other hand, it's not inconceivable that Rockstar were simply playing with different vehicle concepts, considering whether to slot them into GTA V as DLC or hold them off for GTA 6, pre-production with a safety net of sorts.
Even if this is false though, for all the uncertainties of the gaming market, GTA 6's arrival seems to be as certain as anything.
We'll skip the part where we discuss its popularity, duh, and move onto the monetary aspects of the demand for Rockstar's masterpieces, which, after all, are decisive for continuing a franchise.
For all the hype over Red Dead Redemption 2, whose opening weekend earned Take-Two and Rockstar 725 million , many have forgotten that GTA V made a whopping $1 billion in its first three days - the only problem is that it launched on a Tuesday.
Knowing Rockstar, we won't be hearing much about GTA 6 anytime soon, so we'll have to be content with the fact that the dev is on the job.
