Even though the rest of the world seems pretty concerned over gambling in games, Rockstar don't seem to care much as they finally announced the arrival of GTA Online's The Diamond Casino & Resort later this summer. Who needs loot boxes?

GTA Online's casino was one of the features fans were waiting on since forever, which is exactly how long the building between Vinewood Hills and Tataviam Mountains had the 'Opening Soon' sign hanged on it.

No more though, as Rockstar wrote, "Don't let the recent removal of that faded 'OPENING SOON' sign dissuade you, The Diamond Casino & Resort – a brand-new luxury destination and the largest mass entertainment complex of its kind in Southern San Andreas – will open its doors later this summer."

GTA Online players will be getting "lavish amenities, exclusive shopping, first-class entertainment and state-of-the-art gaming facilities", although they didn't provide the exact details on how these will work.

Rockstar wrote that The Diamond Casino & Resort comes with the world-class "concierge, valet parking, the exhilaration of spinning the Lucky Wheel for a chance at life-changing prizes, a finely curated selection of spirits at the bars and lounges, a range of sophisticated table games and much more".

That said, we're still not entirely sure how Rockstar plan to go about implementing The Diamond Casino & Resort, what with the current climate seemingly moving away from anything that would throw gaming and gambling into the same bucket.

We're saying that purely on the basis of recent developments in the field of microtransactions and loot boxes, and even though Belgium and to some extent the Netherlands were the only countries that took this fight seriously, other countries are slowly following suit it seems.

In fact, Epic Games and Electronic Arts have recently been grilled in the UK on their games' usage of microtransactions, age verification, their efforts in determining whether their games are addictive, etc.

Either way, GTA Online's casino is one of the long, long-awaited features and we're sure players won't be overly concerned over the gambling allegations.
