Psyonix and Epic Games announced that the new patch is now live in Rocket League, which also brings the legacy status for those who played the game over the past few years.
Rocket League was released half a decade ago, on July 7, 2015. Five years and one Epic Games acquisition later, the game is transforming into a free to play title.
Those who purchased it will be honoured with a digital goody package, dubbed the "Legacy status". It will be applied to the accounts of those who purchased the game before the F2P update, which is arriving on September 23, but some of the content is exclusive to those who made the purchase prior to July 21, 2020.
The contents the Legacy status are:
- Faded Cosmos boost (Purchases before July 21, 2020)
- Golden Cosmos boost
- Dieci-Oro wheel
- Huntress player banner
- Est. 20XX title
Furthermore, those who hold the Legacy status will get a dedicated quality version for every Common item that was available before the F2P update along with access to non-licensed DLC items.
Overall, it looks like a decent bunch of stuff to honour those who purchased the game as opposed to jumping into it for no charge but that's not all the update from September 16 brought.
There is a ton of information on new player experience, account linking and more on the official website.
