Ubisoft have detailed some imminent Rainbow Six Siege balancing changes that will drop in the upcoming patch. As previously announced, Glaz's sniper will receive major nerf while Maverick and Smoke will also get a couple of tweaks.
Upcoming Rainbow Six Siege patch is set to introduce a couple of tweaks to some operators and items. Arriving to Y4S2 Test Server, some of these changes are set to be tested, while others are receiving final tweaks before going live.
Starting with Desert Eagle, you will now be able to equip a muzzle brake or a suppressor, which should make the gun even more deadly, especially with the muzzle attachment. Smoke's FMG-9 submachine gun also got new attachment - you can equip it with a Vortex scope, better known as Mozzie's scope.
One of the biggest changes in the next batch of reworks and tweaks is coming to Galz's sniper rifle. As previously revealed, Glaz will no longer be able to see enemies in bright yellow colour. Moving in any direction while you aim will progressively cause the bright yellow colour to fade out.
The devs say that Glaz was always designed as a long-range operator but his ability turned out to be "underwhelming and rarely used". For these reasons, Ubisoft added the ability to see through smokes, while operators were highlighted in bright yellow.
These changes made Glaz extremely powerful at close range - you could throw in a couple of smokes, enter the area and take down enemies one by one while being practically invisible. You can see how the new changes will impact Glaz's gameplay below.
Ubisoft say they are still monitoring community reaction around Maverick and swap time between the SURI Torch and his weapons. Players are reporting the sound is too quiet but the devs will keep looking at audio tweaks before they make a decision.
Smoke's gas coulds are sometimes clipping through objects and the devs are currently looking to improve its interaction with the environment. Also, the devs are investigating how to adjust the rendering of the gas cloud itself and modifying the damage dealt.
And last but not least, Deployable Shields should now align properly with doors and Black mirror slits have been replaced by regular bulletproof glass, giving the opportunity for attackers to spot defenders hiding behind the new shield.
