Rainbow Six Extraction will be Ubisoft's first AAA title to launch day one on Game Pass.
Ubisoft have announced a couple of big news today. The company is officially launching their subscription service Ubisoft+ on Xbox very soon and will release Rainbow Six Extraction on Game Pass day one.
Rainbow Six Extraction will be the first AAA title from Ubisoft to launch on Xbox's popular subscription service on day one. The game will be available across all Game Pass supported platforms including consoles, PC and cloud, when it launches on January 20, 2022.
Additionally, Ubisoft say that Xbox players will soon be able to subscribe to Ubisoft+, a subscription service that offers over 100 Ubisoft games, even day one releases for $15 per month.
Some rumours suggested that a different tier of Ubisoft+ would be coming to Game Pass at some point but Ubisoft did not announce anything regarding that today. Though they did say "stay tuned for more news" when asked about a potential merge with Game Pass.
If Ubisoft+ ever comes to Game Pass, we assume it will be very similar to EA play tier, which offers older games but doesn't include day one releases. Such integration certainly makes sense for both Xbox and Ubisoft.
