League of Legends is set to celebrate April Fool's Day with the release of five new skins, each characterised by their witty and humorous designs. The reaction from the community was nothing but positive, as they have shown great enthusiasm for these skins, with some even hailing them as the highlight of 2024.
Riot Games managed to prevent any leaks prior to their official unveiling. Even though they teased the skin for Rammus just recently, none of us could ever expect what the other skins in this skin line would be like.
The five skins are:
- Zesty Dip Zac
- Cheddar Chief Twitch
- Durian Defender Rammus
- Choo-Choo Ornn
- Toy Terror Cho'Gath
Now let's take a look at the splash arts for these skins and their prices.
Zesty Dip Zac
- Price: 1350 RP
- Chromas: 9 different variants
This is probably the only skin that is somewhat underwhelming. However, instead of making Zac another glob or goop, the stretchy, melted cheese vibe was a nice touch from Riot. Again, it complements Twitch's new skin as well.
Cheddar Thief Twitch
- Price: 1350 RP
- Chromas: 9 different variants
This was a fun twist on the whole mouse-and-cheese concept. But now that Twitch has become cheese himself, does he still crave cheese? Or does he now crave vermin? Again, would you consider it cannibalism if Cheddar Thief Twitch ate cheese? or would you consider it cannibalism if Cheddar Thief Twitch eats vermin? Thanks, Riot, for this paradox.
Durian Defender Rammus
- Price: 1350 RP
- Chromas: 9 different variants
We understand Rammus is a spiny armadillo and goes with the durian fruit design, but in our humble opinion, this was a bad choice. Durian is one of the most hated fruits in the world because of its smell. Even though its taste is sweet, people find it repulsive.
While one can argue that this matches Rammus, as he may seem intimidating and scary, but inside he is all sweet and cuddly, we still believe Riot should have chosen Jackfruit or some other spiky fruit instead of durian.
Choo-Choo Orn
- Price: 1350 RP
- Chromas: 9 different variants
This is undoubtedly one of the best skins in League of Legends, as the train master vibe goes hand in hand with Ornn. I mean, everything about this skin makes sense. Especially that Ult!
Toy Terror Renekton
- Price: 1350 RP
- Chromas: 9 different variants
If you are having a sense of Deja Vu, then you are not wrong, as this skin bears a resemblance to the Renektoy skin. It is true that Toy Terror Renekton and Choo-Choo Orn seem like they are part of the Toy Box series skinline, which also includes Renekton and Shaco; Riot officially has not confirmed it yet.
The release of the April Fool's Day skin line is expected to coincide with LoL Patch 14.7 on April 3, 2024 So if you liked any of these skins, you better start saving up RP.
